EMAIL REGARDING TRANSPORT: 14/09/24

Thanks to Lee Witchell’s kind offer we have been able to provide a better service in the South. Two Drop points will now make journey times a little shorter. When using any Drop Point on the 26th, please try to get there as early as possible so the driver “DAVE MARTIN” can get on his way. This applies especially to Newbury.

NEWCASTLE – Please contact Gavin Larkin or Julian Rapp. Bikes need to be at Gavins premises ready for collection late afternoon of 23rd September.

2. READ THIS……….
You should have told us about ALL the stuff you are taking on transport – the deadline to do this is the 16th Septemeber and it is very important. If things are not on the carnet, then they cannot be loaded. The link to do this is here
Please don’t fill your bikes with fuel.
Disconnect the starter button….or the battery
Stillages are shared.
Please take ratchet straps ( and some foam ? ) to secure your bikes into the stillages. Write your name on the straps if you want the same ones back.
Put all your riding kit and protective gear into a large kit/bag holdall. The same one described on the carnet.
If boots are loose, please tape them together or put them in a boot bag.
Put all your tools, spares and consumables into a box/bag. As per carnet
Put mousses inside tyres and tape tyres together. LABEL THEM !!!. They MUST be as per carnet.
Fuel Can (plastic) – suggest 10LTR. Label it !!
PUT YOUR NAME ON ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. Especially important on the way home.

3. Parts available at Paddock – You can buy almost any parts you need in the paddock, from tyres and mousses to spares and fluids. So you don’t really need a huge selection of spares.
4. Service Package – You can pay 80 euros to use the “Ride and Forget” service package in the paddock. Therfore you dont neccesarily need tools other than those you carry in your back pack.
5. Fuel Can – Please take a plastic Fuel can. It is prefered that you take a fuel can to get fuel from the service station rather riding your bikes there….If you have the facilty. There will be a further email to all riders that follow soon regarding service points and fuel.

kind regards
Julian

EXTRA INFO:

EMAIL REGARDING CARNET SIMPLIFICATION: 10/09/24

Hello,

Following a justified inquiry, I spoke with the transport company this morning to ask if we can group certain items together to simplify things for you.

As a result, most of you can now enter all your riding gear, helmet, and boots as “A Kit Bag containing race clothing, protection, and personal items” as long as it’s one bag.

This grouping also applies to Service Tools as “General spares and Service Tools in a box/bag.”

I hope this helps alleviate the headache of the carnet.

This only applies to motorcycles using the official transport truck. Armed with your V5, I cannot see this taking any longer than a couple of minutes.

The link to the form is here.

Again, we aim to have ALL the information in by September 16th.

Thank you,
Julian

EMAIL REGARDING CARNET: 09/09/24

Hello,

We have reached the CARNET moment and have created a form to guide you through this process.

The form is retrospectively editable, so you don’t need to complete it all at once. Once you start filling out the form and press “submit,” you will receive a link in your email to make further edits.

To get started and ensure your bike is in Portugal on the first day of MadRon, we suggest you grab your V5 and complete that easy step.

The link to the form is here

NEXT up is your kitbag and contents.

The input format is brand / colour / used value (£), example:
Alpinestars / Blue / 40

If you have 2x shirts then:
Alpinestars / Blue / 40

Alpinestars / Yellow / 40

ALL the Carnet data is required for the 16th September. It’s important to remember that we can only transport items that you have entered on the carnet.

Regards Julian
